How to Install Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on Windows

The latest version of Android that is Android 4.0 (ICS) comes with lot of exciting features and a new cool looking interface. When I first saw a screenshot of a phone running ICS, I felt amazed and I badly wanted to try it but unfortunately my mobile was not compatible to run Android 4.0. After doing a lot of search in google, I finally found a trick to run Android on my Windows. If you don't have a mobile with Android 4.0 and you want to try it on Windows then you are at the right place. In this post I will show you how to install Android 4.0 on Windows.

To get started, you need two things:

Steps to install Android on Windows:
  • First download and install Virtual Box, if you have not installed it already.
  • Now open Android-v4.7z that you have downloaded and extract it.
  • In the folder where you have extracted it, find Android-v4.vbox (with blue icon) and open it.
  • Now VirtualBox should automatically load and add Android to its boot list.
  • From there click start from the boot menu and select Android Startup from /dev/sda
  • Upon clicking Android Startup from /dev/sda , you will see the Android boot screen. Once the Android is booted you can see the default android lock screen.
  • Now simply drag the lock screen aside by using your mouse. Then you will see the Android Home Screen.

That's it! You will now be able too use Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on your Windows PC.
